Bio

Producer, engineer, songwriter and guitarist Ross Roberts has been playing the blues for more years than he probably cares to remember. Founder and leader of Alabama Blues Machine, Roberts grew up listening to blues and rhythm & blues records, and playing since his early teen years. Throughout the '90s he led Dick's Hat Band, one of Alabama's legendary blues bands, producing the band's two CD's "Shameless Rhythm & Blues" and "Got The Whole Town Talkin'". When the band called it quits some 12 years later, Roberts decided it was time to focus his attention on his music businesses, Rossong Music Studio and Strebor Music, his music publishing company. Before long, however, the urge to play and perform hit him again, and numerous late night jams at his studio brought about a new band, Po' Monkey. Together for just about a year, Roberts produced the band's debut disc "On The Loose", which will be released before Christmas of 2008. Roberts and Po' Monkey singer Bruce Andrews wrote the majority of the songs on the new CD. Influenced by the three kings: Albert, B.B and Freddie, as well as a host of other blues greats, Ross Roberts is a guitarist who can stand up next to anyone and more than hold his ground.
